Our worship style and music consists of modern day arrangements and songs that fit today's culture. We strive to stay relevant and current with our style of music while introducing some older favorites from time to time. Although we believe that music is a powerful and moving tool or avenue in which to worship God, we know and understand that music alone is simply not worship at all. In fact, worship is a style all in its own. It's a lifestyle! Worship is a Christian's natural response or behavior to God. It's an automatic flow or expression of the life of a believer.

Join in with all your heart, soul, mind and strength . . . don't hold back. Sing from your toes. Pray from your guts. Worship the Eternal Creator from your soul. It's not about perfect music; it's about joining the holy roar of a community honestly wrestling with what it means to follow their Creator.

Why We Sing

A big group of people singing together is odd. It really is. Other than a baseball game or occasional birthday party, people don't usually stand around and sing. But we do every Sunday at church. Why? For starters it is a part of our history and tradition. We come from a long line of people who sing to and about God. From King David to Martin Luther to Bono, men and women have often expressed their faith, whether in painful cries or through gushing praise, with singing. The reasons behind this aren't always clear, but the power of music is undeniable. It seems to tap into deeper and more honest places than words alone ever could. It has been said that music is the language of the soul. We believe it.

Our Philosophy

We believe that it is our job, calling and privilege to be the accompanists to the worship choir, that is, to the church. We try to play and sing in such a manner that both leads and gets out of the way of worshipping. And although the quality of the music is extremely important to us, we are equally concerned with becoming the kinds of people whose lives bring worship to God. We aspire to be a team who lives what we sing.

Get Involved

NorthGate is continually growing and changing in our attempts to provide people with intimate and authentic encounters with God. Finding enough opportunities for everyone who want to be involved is difficult, however. We are committed to growing the most effective worship team in order to best serve NorthGate.
