VBS 2011 - Big Apple Adventure
Wow! What an incredible week we all had with the Big Apple Adventure VBS 2011 Program at NorthGate! We learned to "Connect with Faith!" from a story about a centurion whose faith in Jesus healed his servant. We learned that we too can have this, faith in Jesus, in our own lives! In Missions Central, we had the opportunity to participate in our "Change the World" outreach. We bought in spare change for the children of the House of James Ministries in Ukraine. Everyone's giving will be used to literally bring change to the lives of these unfortunate kids so that they too will have a better life.
The kids were also challenged to spread the word and invite a friend, or lots of friends, to participate in VBS with them. The student that brought the most registered friends by the end of the week, won a Nintendo Wii Game System with a Mario Kart Game Disc and Steering Wheel!
Friday was our water day! We had a terrific time water sliding on the inflatable! All of the kids did an awesome job singing about how they love God more than anything! We had an amazing experience! We even learned to "Connect with Trust!" We learned heard that Jesus is worthy of our trust because He is God's son, and He will take care of us. Then lastly, we learned to "Connect with Others!" All of us learned how to the spread the word and tell others about Jesus so that they too will know Him like we do!
