We must take time to pause, be still, and be in the presence of God, to be in Him, connecting with Him that we might know Him and rest in who we are as a child of God. Once we have rested, renewed and been filled, we can go back out into our world and press the play button to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who so desperately need Him! We are called to be the church Christ intended. To bring the kingdom of God here and now; on earth as it is in heaven. We are called to be filled with Him and to pour Him out into the lives of others. If not us, then who, if not now, then when? It's time to be who God says you are; to be salt and light to the world. To be agents of transformation and change. To be filled and poured, dripping Jesus everywhere you go, getting Jesus all over people, making a beautiful mess, leaving Jesus puddles behind you everywhere you go; evidence of His presence and person in and through your life.

God has called us to change the world. Christ came to change the world and did just that. All within a fifty mile radius of his own backyard. Jesus not only affected his community but the entire world for all of time and now he has commissioned the church to do the same. God has given us His Holy Spirit to enable us, to empower us and to guide us into proclaiming the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dieing world who so desperately needs to know Him! There is no greater task or challenge for the church today. Simply put, we are called to make disciples in the nations; to turn this world upside down for the cause of Christ. To make a difference in our world by winning lost souls into the kingdom of heaven through the same lifestyle that Jesus lived; a fully surrendered heart unto God, allowing Him to be who He is in and through your life! This is how we can make a difference, a lasting difference that will have an affect on all of eternity and to the entire world, even if it's just one heart at a time. If we truly love God, and if we truly serve others, then we will indeed change the world.

The second commandment is connected to the first one. They are a pair and cannot be separated. Our relationship to others is synonymous with our relationship to God. If we are not in right relationship with others, then we are not in right relationship with our God. We are to love others just as much as we would love ourselves; considering others better and deserving of more value. We are to yield to others in the way we would wish to be treated, respected and loved. If we truly love others, then we will show it by serving them. To be Christ-like is to be a servant. Jesus came to serve others, not to be served himself. We too are to be just like Christ in that we are to serve others. We live in a "tell me, don't show me" culture; a world full of broken promises and cons. Take it a step further and demonstrate your love for others, as Christ did, by serving them. This is truly fulfilling your purpose as a Christ follower and for the church.
